Senate Resolution No. 50

Recognizing the accomplishments of the Hurricane High School Red Hot Show Choir.

Whereas, The Hurricane High School Red Hot Show Choir, under Director Kimberly Edwards and Choreographer Deana Boggs-McNeil, is an accomplished group of 56 young musicians who enjoy entertaining audiences across the nation with their remarkable choral sound and impressive choreography; and
Whereas, The Hurricane High School Red Hot Show Choir has acquired myriad awards, including 20 grand championships. The choir has also won best choral sound, best choreography, best instrumental ensemble, best male and female soloists, best show concept, best costumes, outstanding individual performer and most entertaining show; and
Whereas, Throughout the years, the Hurricane High School Red Hot Show Choir has won many prestigious awards, including the West Virginia State Championship in 1999, 2004, 2005 and 2006. The choir also has participated in competitions in Ohio, Missouri, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2006, the choir traveled to New York City, where it placed third runner up in the National Show Stoppers Competition; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby recognizes the accomplishments of Hurricane High School Red Hot Show Choir; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to Kimberly Edwards, Director of the Hurricane High School Red Hot Show Choir.
